Speaker William Therrien, Ph.D. &  Belva Collins, Ph.D.

Participate in a conversation between Dr. Therrien and FPC member Dr. Belva Collins.  This is an excellent opportunity to gain information and insight into the support and inclusion of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Dr. Therrien is Professor at the University of Virginia where he is affiliated with the  STAR initiative which focuses on transformative autism research. In addition, he is editor of Exceptional Children, the premiere research journal in special education. His expertise is in designing and evaluating academic programs for students with autism and learning disabilities.

Dr. Belva Collins is Professor Emeritus at both the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and the University of Kentucky.  Her expertise and research are in working with students with significant support needs, including autism, with a focus on inclusion in their faith communities.

Be part of a unique spectacle as we witness the final visible solar eclipse in the continental U.S. for the next two decades. Grab your complimentary eclipse glasses and immerse yourself in celestial wonder. Dive into crafts, enjoy great music, sip on delicious coffee, and munch on popcorn.

Distribution of eclipse glasses will begin at 1p.m. and available while supplies last. Guests are asked to bring a donation for a local food drive, in exchange for the glasses.
