Offering Recreational Therapy Solutions to Individuals of All Ages

What is Recreational Therapy?

Recreational Therapy (also known as Therapeutic Recreation) employs the use of recreational activities and other activity-based intervention to improve the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social health of individuals with disabling conditions or illnesses. Activities aim to reduce stress and anxiety, build confidence, improve motor skills and reasoning abilities, and promote the enjoyment of leisure time.

Moss Recreational Therapy is a consultative, indirect service. This differs from typical RT services as its strength lies in training clients and caregivers, providing you the skills for a happy leisure lifestyle. When Faith is not providing in-person or virtual training, she is completing research to find interventions, community activities and events, and evidence-based programs. Services include exploring interests, identifying adaptations, introducing new activities, connecting you with community-based services, and increasing independence. Some activities that may be explored or adapted for Faith’s clients include:

  • Arts & Crafts

  • Board Games

  • Adaptive or Inclusive Sports and Recreation

  • Music

  • Animal Therapy

  • & More!
